Behind the scenes of the Incore Padel Cup with Jana Ruggle

The Incore Padel Cup stands for thrilling rallies, competitive spirit, and valuable networking. To get a look behind the scenes, we asked our Project Lead Incore Padel Cup, Jana Ruggle ten questions about the fascination of padel, the logistical feats happening in the background, and her personal highlights.

Jana, what can participants experience at the Incore Padel Cup that isn’t possible at a traditional business meeting?
The Incore Padel Cup creates connections in a completely different way. On the court, hierarchies disappear, teams work together toward a common goal, and people get to know each other in a much more authentic setting. The combination of sport, competition, and networking creates relationships that often go beyond what you would achieve in a traditional business meeting. That unique atmosphere is what makes the event so special.

The tournament lasts about half a day for most participants. When does the “busy phase” of preparations begin for you?
In reality, preparations start almost immediately after the previous event ends. It’s a bit like putting together a puzzle throughout the year, each piece, whether it’s the concept, invitations, sponsors, tournament schedule, catering, or giveaways, contributes to the final picture. The most intensive phase begins a few weeks before the event, when all the details come together and I focus on final coordination and fine-tuning.

Which partners do you work with, and how do they contribute to the event’s success?
The Incore Padel Cup would not be possible without the support of our partners. Swiss Tennis Padel brings valuable expertise and helps us deliver a high-quality sporting experience. Venues such as the Yakin Arena and other padel clubs provide the perfect setting for competition and networking. We are also grateful to our sponsors GWP, Finnova and Seturion for their continued support.

Internally, it is a real team effort. Everyone contributes to the event’s success, with our Marketing & Events and Sales teams playing a particularly important role, supported by colleagues across the company and of course our Executive Management.

«If participants simply enjoy the day without noticing all the work happening in the background, then I know we’ve done our job well».

What do our participants never see, but what is actually the reason everything runs so smoothly?
They never see the detailed planning behind the scenes. Every event is supported by carefully prepared schedules, and strong teamwork. At the same time, successful event management requires a fair amount of flexibility and improvisation. If participants simply enjoy the day without noticing all the work happening in the background, then I know we’ve done our job well.

What is usually the last item you tick off your checklist?
It's usually the final venue walkthrough. I make one last check to ensure everything is exactly where it should be: the logo wall is set up, the giveaways are ready, the snacks and catering are in place, and the participant list is complete. Once all those pieces come together, I know we're ready for a great day on and off the court.

What stays the same from edition to edition, and what changes every time?
What remains constant is the successful formula: great Padel, valuable networking opportunities, and a welcoming atmosphere. That combination is at the heart of the Incore Padel Cup. What changes are the participants, the stories that unfold on the court, new locations, and the connections that are made at each event. Those elements make every edition unique.

Has there been any participant feedback that was particularly meaningful to you?
One of the most rewarding comments is when participants tell us that they not only enjoyed the sporting experience but also made valuable business connections or even developed professional relationships through the event. That perfectly reflects our vision of bringing business and sport together.

What is the first thing you do after a successful Padel event? How do you unwind?
First, we celebrate with the team and take a moment to appreciate everything we achieved together. Then we hold a debrief to review what worked particularly well and identify opportunities for improvement.

If you had to explain the Incore Padel Cup to someone who has never attended in just one sentence, what would you say?
The Incore Padel Cup is where companies connect, professionals network, and business meets sport in an energetic and inspiring environment.

For everyone who is ready to step onto the court: is it still possible to register for the next qualifying tournament?
Yes, teams can still register for upcoming qualifying tournaments as long as places remain available. Anyone looking to combine sport, networking, and team spirit should secure their spot early and join the Incore Padel Cup community.
